How do I sign-up to be a Watch D.O.G.S. volunteer?
contact Todd Stanzione, TSTANZIONE@AACPS.ORG
Are there requirements I have to fulfill before volunteering
Yes, all Watch D.O.G.S. volunteers need to have the county background check completed prior to their volunteer day and watch the mandatory volunteer video. The background check takes approximately two weeks to be completed. You can access the form here, or by going to aacps.org and searching
“background check form” or by going to the Nantucket Elementary Blackboard site (username: nantucket, password: starfish) and clicking on Volunteer Opportunities. All school volunteers must also watch the
mandatory volunteer video. You can view it the morning of your Watch D.O.G.S. day or any time before your Watch D.O.G.S. day b accessing it online through the Nantucket Elementary School
Blackboard site (username: nantucket, password: starfish) and clicking on Volunteer Opportunities.
I had the county background check completed last year. Do I need to do it again this year?
No, the completed background checks are good for two years.
I have already seen the volunteer video. Do I need to watch it again each new school
No, once you have watched the mandatory volunteer video, you do not need to it again. We
may ask you to sign a verification form stating you’ve seen the video as this verification form is new for the 2014-2015 school year
What should I wear?
We encourage all of our Watch D.O.G.S. to order a uniform shirt. If you don’t have a uniform shirt, you can purchase one from the main office ($13.00 each, $15.00 for 2XL). If you do not want to purchase a uniform shirt, we ask that you wear a plain colored polo-style shirt and we will give you a sticker badge to identify you as the Watch D.O.G.S. volunteer for the day! We recommend you wear comfortable shoes as you will likely be on your feet for most of the day and also dress for the weather—as a Watch D.O.G.S.
volunteer you will spend a good portion of your day outside (during arrival, recess, and dismissal).
How do I order a uniform shirt?
You can order a uniform shirt by contacting Todd Stanzione, TSTANZIONE@AACPS.ORG, School Counselor. Orders will be placed in mid-October, December later in the spring if needed.
How do I sign up for a Watch D.O.G shift?
