My name is Nicola Rust-Skippen. I have two kids; Lucy is a seventh grader at Crofton Middle and Luke will be in first grade this fall. Lucy was at NES all 6 years and I was very active in the PTA throughout her tenure. First year I was Communications co-chair, then Secretary, next two years I was Treasurer, and my 6th year I was President. The current 2018-19 school year I am Treasurer again. I’m excited to be back at Nantucket this fall to be involved and help in anyway I can.
My name is Jennifer Cavin and I am running for Treasurer. My daughter, Chloe, will be a 4th grader at Nantucket this Fall. I joined the PTA as the Communications Chair when Chloe was in 2nd grade. I enjoy volunteering at the school every week, making copies for the 3rd grade teachers. I worked at a bank for 15 years so I believe I can keep track of the PTA's finances.
Did you know planning for the 2019/2020 school year will start THIS MAY! The PTA will meet this summer to plan and organize the events for the school year. By the first PTA meeting, all events and schedules must be scheduled and approved by the school. If you want a bigger voice in the PTA, NOW is the time to get involved!

The community events and programs committee plans free family events for our school community. In addition to determining what events the PTA will sponsor, the committee members work with outside vendors and partners as needed; coordinate use of the building and facilities with school staff; publicize and promote the event; coordinate event volunteers and manage the event itself, including set-up and clean-up.
