Fundraising


The fundraising committee is responsible for running our 2019 Boosterthon fundraiser! In addition, the fundraising committee will setup spirit nights at local restaurants and run our direct donation campaign. 


INTERESTED IN BEING A COMMITTEE LEAD? 

My name is Katie McKeon and I am running for Vice President of the Nantucket PTA.  My daughter Abbey is in 3rd grade.  I have been involved with the PTA since Abbey started Kindergarten and I have served as the Committee Chair/Co-Chair of Community Events and most recently as Vice President.  Being involved with the PTA has been great.  It has been an outlet for me to make friends in our school community and get to know the fabulous teachers and staff at Nantucket Elementary since moving to Crofton in 2018.  If voted to be Vice President, I hope to continue to serve and help the PTA and school in whatever way I can.  Love our Starfish community!

Community Service


Our new Community Service Committee will be dedicated to empowering Nantucket students to to action to make our community a better place to live. This committee lead will be responsible for running projects that focus on the bettering the environment helping our fellow citizens and personal health. 

Communications


The communication lead works with all committee leads and the executive board to update  Facebook, Twitter and ​our website. The communication lead is responsible for creating and emailing our bi-weekly newsletter.


My name is Robyn Cohen and I am running for President of the PTA. My son, Josh is in 4th grade and and my daughter, Abby is currently a sixth grader at Crofton Middle School. Josh loves school very much!! I have been a room mom over the years and really enjoy being involved. I served on the PTA board, most recently as the President.  I have also served as the Secretary and Vice President for a total of 4 years. We are proud to be apart of such a wonderful school and looking forward to another great school year!

Spirit wear


The spirit wear and school kits committee runs both drives. Volunteers will assist with selecting vendors and options available for sale, collect payments, and distribute purchases.

The yearbook committee designs and arranges the sale of the yearbook.  Volunteers will assist with gathering pictures from parents, help design the year book and organize the sale and distribution of yearbooks. 


community events


The community events and programs committee plans free family events for our school community. In addition to determining what events the PTA will sponsor, the committee members work with outside vendors and partners as needed; coordinate use of the building and facilities with school staff; publicize and promote the event; coordinate event volunteers and manage the event itself, including set-up and clean-up.

My name is Tara Wittig, and I am running for Secretary of the PTA. My son, Bryce, is currently in the fourth grade at Nantucket and my daughter Sophia is currently a seventh grader at Crofton Middle School. Sophia attended all 6 years of elementary school at Nantucket. I was one of the coaches for Girls on Run while Sophia was at NES.  Over the years, I have volunteered in the classrooms and participated in many school and PTA sponsored events.  I am looking forward to serving on the PTA for such a wonderful school! 

My name is Nicola Rust-Skippen. I have two kids; Lucy is a tenth grader at Archbishop Spalding and Luke is in 3rd grade at NES. Lucy was at NES all 6 years and I was very active in the PTA throughout her tenure. First year I was Communications co-chair, then Secretary, next two years I was Treasurer, and my 6th year I was President. When Luke was in kindergarten I was the Treasurer again and the last three years I have been on the executive board as Secretary.  I’m excited to continue my involvement at Nantucket and help in anyway I can.

Did you know planning for the 2022/2023 school year will start THIS MAY! The PTA will meet this summer to plan and organize the events for the school year. By the first PTA meeting, all events and schedules must be scheduled and approved by the school. If you want a bigger voice in the PTA, NOW is the time to get involved!


hospitality 


The hospitality committee has the very enjoyable task of showing appreciation and support for our wonderful faculty and staff. The committee provides meals and small gifts throughout the year. Volunteers are needed to donate and/or shop for food and set-up and clean up from events.
