The Nantucket PTA has been very busy this school providing vital support to the NES community. 

1.     Hosted the following Events:

a.     Provided a presentation on Bullying and Gang Awareness by the AA County Police Department

b.     Provided the students with several assemblies, including:

i.     Steel Drum Band Assembly

ii.    Jennifer Curtis Author’s Assembly

iii.   The Natural Science and Song Man – Billy B.

c.      Hosted a presentation by Ms. Rowland on the upcoming “Science Fair”.

2.     Provided the following educational support to ALL NES Students by paying for:

a.     Registration costs for Destination Imagination club

b.     Accelerated Reader technology support

c.      Tumblebooks maintenance

d.     Weekly reading program start-up costs

3.     Provided On-Going Financial support to NES via:

a.     Teachers incentive program (reimbursement of personal classroom costs)

b.     Provided for the Cleaning/sanitization of classroom rugs

c.      Purchased New Recess Equipment

d.     Purchased desktop helpers laminates for classroom desks

e.     Purchased calculators to be used during MSAs

f.       Paid for new mulch for the grounds

4.     Successfully raised over $15,000 through multiple fundraising activities

5.     Initiated several NEW programs and continued to provide program support including:

a.     The Science Club

b.     The WatchDOGS program

c.      International Week
